Mercedes Catalytic Converter Replacement in Denver

Catalytic converters have no moving parts, so they rarely fail. But catalytic converter failure is a possibility – whether due to engine misfires, coolant leaks, leaky fuel injectors, burned engine oil, bad oxygen sensor, or physical damage, to name some of the major culprits. A failing catalytic converter can negatively impact your Mercedes in a variety of ways: performance will suffer, you may notice unusual odors, including the rotten eggs smell, rattling noises, and the check engine light will be illuminated. We highly recommend contacting MB Clinic in Denver to inspect and diagnose the cause of these symptoms as soon as possible. Continued driving with a failed catalytic converter can cause serious engine damage, and in some, fortunately very rare cases, can result in a vehicle fire.   Catalytic converters reduce harmful emissions by converting engine exhaust gases (carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides) into carbon dioxide, nitrogen, oxygen and water vap ... read more

Mercedes Window Regulator Failure Repair

When you press the switch to move a window up or down in your Mercedes, the glass within the door is moved by the window regulator and the window motor – the motor spins, which turns the regulator’s gears, and this moves the glass along a mechanical track. Power window problems in Mercedes-Benz vehicles are frequently caused by a malfunctioning window regulator - over time the regulator gears can wear out and the window can start behaving in a somewhat erratic manner, or simply gets stuck.  The reasons are many – age and wear, heat drying out the lubricants causing increased friction, debris clogging the track, to name just a few. Window regulator failure could be sudden, but sometimes you get a warning – you may hear clicking, squeaking or grinding sounds while using the window and the glass may move slowly, unevenly or hesitantly. These warning signs are a good reason to bring your Mercedes to MB Clinic and have our factory trained technicians inspect yo ... read more

Mercedes Suspension Service and Repair in Denver, CO

Luxury, comfort, and precise handling are some of the reasons drivers choose Mercedes-Benz. The suspension system is crucial to providing the smooth refined ride that the brand is renowned for whether you drive a C-Class E-Class or S-Class. Regular suspension component inspections and maintenance ensure maximum efficiency and protects your investment while maintaining Mercedes performance safety and ride quality. These systems are stable and comfortable but they need to be maintained on a regular basis. Uneven tire wear, steering instability, uneven ride height, excessive bouncing or strange noises could all be signs of a problem. A sagging corner or warning light on an air suspension vehicle may be a sign of problems with the compressor, air strut, or electronic control parts.  As the car ages, air suspension problems are among the more frequent suspension-related repairs for Mercedes models with AIRMATIC air spring bellows (rubber air springs) since they deteriorate with the p ... read more

Mercedes Brake Fluid Flush in Denver

Mercedes-Benz vehicles are engineered for quality, and their brake system is no exception. But engineering precision by itself will not carry the day – regular maintenance is a necessity. At MB Clinic we offer comprehensive Mercedes-Benz services, diagnostics and repairs. Thus, naturally, we offer Mercedes brake fluid replacement. Our factory trained technicians follow Mercedes-recommended procedures, using brake fluid that meets Mercedes-Benz specifications to maintain optimal hydraulic pressure and consistent stopping power. This service is typically performed every two years, often as part of Service B maintenance, to prevent moisture buildup and maintain braking efficiency. Brake fluid transfers force from the pedal to the calipers which press the brake pads to the rotors, and the friction thus generated slows down and stops the vehicle. During braking, brake fluid is heated to high temperatures. Over time heat cycling and moisture contamination can reduce its boiling point ... read more

Mercedes A/C Service in Denver, CO

Well-functioning Mercedes-Benz air conditioning is essential to your comfort during hot summer days in Denver. Malfunctioning A/C system can not only detract from the luxury driving experience, but on truly hot days could make the ride downright unpleasant. At MB Clinic – the premier Mercedes-Benz specialists in Denver – we offer comprehensive Mercedes a/c system maintenance, as well as repairs, if necessary. A common issue we see is weak airflow from the vents. This is often caused by blower motor issues, but it can also be caused by a clogged cabin air filter. Another problem we encounter is the compressor failure. Since the compressor is responsible for circulating refrigerant, compressor failure will result in the a/c system blowing warm air, at best. If it fails internally and “implodes”, it can also contaminate the entire air conditioning system with fine metallic debris. This would require a full system flush and replacement of components that are affect ... read more

Mercedes Benz Fall Checkup

If you have not yet brought your Mercedes to MB Clinic for a fall checkup, now is the time. While the weather is pleasant this week, next week rain and snow are in the forecast for Denver. So use the last few days of sunshine to get your car ready for the winter. We recommend fluid checks, wiper check, tire inspection and battery check. Fluids should be checked regularly, but of course, before winter, antifreeze is vital, so a quick check of the antifreeze is highly recommended.  Tires are crucial for safe driving in winter weather - making sure there is sufficient tread remaining to evacuate water is vital to prevent hydroplaning. Proper tire inflation not only improves mileage, but extends tire life and improves handling – a win all around. If you use winter tires, wait no longer, change to snow tires now. Finally, we highly recommend battery testing. Cold weather can make a marginal battery fail. While during the warm summer months a weak battery could do the job, cold ... read more

Mercedes Check Engine Light Diagnostics and Repairs in Denver, CO

Your Mercedes is a marvel of modern engineering, yet occasionally it will require help. When the Mercedes onboard computer illuminates the “check engine light” warning on the dashboard, it’s your vehicle asking for help. There are literally thousands of conditions that can cause the check engine light to come “on”. Fortunately, not all require extensive diagnostics or time-consuming repairs. The simplest, and easiest to correct cause of the check engine light is a faulty gas cap – so gas cap replacement is all that’s needed. But more often than not, there will be diagnostics involved, and a repair to me made. Here are top 10 most frequent reasons for the Mercedes check engine light, in no particular order: Faulty oxygen sensor Worn spark plugs Failing ignition coils Loose or cracked gas cap Failing catalytic converter Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor malfunctioning Emission system problems (EVAP sensor, EGR valve) Transmission problems Ele ... read more

What Does the “Yellow Exclamation Mark Inside a Tire” Warning Light Mean

Few things make drivers more anxious than a mysterious light on the dash—especially one shaped like an exclamation point inside a tire. While it can be startling, this light is designed to keep you safe, not to ruin your day. At MB Clinic in Denver we see cars come in with this exact warning, and most of the time the solution is simpler than owners expect. The exclamation mark inside a horseshoe shape (sort of like a flattened tire) is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) alert. It likely means that one or more tires have lost pressure and are underinflated. Newer Mercedes models will also display an outline of a car and indicate which tire is underinflated. Driving with low tire pressure can reduce fuel economy, wear out tires faster, and even lead to a blowout. Pull over when safe, visually inspect the tires, and use a pressure gauge to confirm the readings. If you’re unsure, but the tire is not flat, swing by our shop—we’ll check and inflate them prope ... read more

Mercedes-Benz Brake Caliper Replacement in Denver

Mercedes-Benz vehicles are designed for safety and performance. But even the finest automobile depends on properly functioning brakes — and one of the most critical components of the brake system is the brake caliper. At MB Clinic in Denver we help Mercedes-Benz owners to keep their vehicles in top condition - including the braking system. We offer professional caliper inspections, repairs, and caliper replacements, if necessary. What Does a Brake Caliper Do? In simple terms, brake calipers are the “hands” that grip the brake rotors when you press the brake pedal. They hold the brake pads in place and apply force to increase friction between brake pads and rotors, and thus reduce vehicle speed or bring the vehicle to a complete stop. Over time, brake calipers may deteriorate and you may notice symptoms that will alert you that something is wrong: Vehicle pulling to one side when braking Uneven brake pad wear Leaking brake fluid near the wheels R ... read more

Mercedes-Benz Heater Core Problems

When your Mercedes fails to blow warm air on that cold night, chances are there is something wrong with the heater core or the other parts of the heating system.  Heater core looks like a small radiator, and that is exactly what it is. Hot coolant carrying heat from the engine cycles through the heater core, and when you turn on warm air, blower motor directs air over this radiator, causing the air  to warm up, and then through the vents it enters the cabin. When this system malfunctions, it is likely that either the blower motor is not doing its job (no air is coming out of the vents), or there is a problem with the heater core itself. Low coolant levels will negatively impact heating function, and they are often due to heater core leaks. Clogged heater core can also results in insufficient heat transfer, and so can a faulty heater valve. At MB Clinic we will diagnose the exact reason for the failure - there are many reasons why heating might not work, though heater core an ... read more
